Bodhi
Bodhi means awakening. This page is a collection of teachers, practices, and resources that have shaped my path. Not a curriculum — more like leaving breadcrumbs in the forest.
I practice in the early Buddhist tradition. Mettā (loving-kindness) and vipassanā (insight), with heavy influence from the Brahmavihāra and emptiness teachings. The goal is less suffering, more clarity, and maybe a sense of humor about the whole thing.
Teachers I learn from
Michael Taft ↗
Nondual meditation teacher. Clear, precise, no woo. His guided meditations are some of the best on YouTube.
Dhammarato ↗
American monk in Thailand. Teaches dhamma the way it should be taught — simple, direct, funny. Like having a wise uncle who happens to be enlightened.
Rob Burbea ↗
Brilliant teacher who explored the intersection of imagination, emptiness, and meditation. Passed away in 2020. His talks are a treasure.
Jay Garfield ↗
Buddhist philosopher. If you want to understand Nāgārjuna and emptiness without your brain melting (much), start here.
My practice
Mettā Vipassanā ↗
Open-hearted insight meditation. Brahmavihara and the 6Rs. This is my primary practice and what I teach.
SuttaSpeed ↗
Speed reading for Pali suttas. Built this because the canon is enormous and life is short.
Books
- Majjhima Nikāya Start here. The core suttas.
- Dhammapada Verses to live by. Better than any self-help book.
- Seeing That Frees On emptiness and ways of looking. Dense, rewarding.
- The Fundamental Wisdom of the Middle Way Nāgārjuna's Mūlamadhyamakakārikā. Buckle up.
More teachers, talks, and resources coming. This page will grow as I remember all the things that shaped how I see.
